All-Stars of Remedy Ridge

Here at Remedy Ridge we only breed dogs that have either achieved their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and/or Therapy Dog titles or are working toward achieving these titles with notable potential or are certified Emotional Support Animals (ESA) for the guardian family with a therapeutic disposition. We have poured hundreds of hours into selecting the right parents and into training them properly so we can produce the best puppies and dogs around. Our intention is to breed responsibly with a purpose to help fulfill the unique needs of individuals looking for more then a dog, but love they can rely on in four paws. Our programs strives to Heal souls with Paws of Gold.

Program Stud: Rooster in Curls of Remedy Ridge
Call name:
Rooster
Certifications:
Therapy Certified, AKC Canine Good Citizen, AKC Star Puppy and Manners Matter Graduate

Breed: AKC Mini Red Parti Poodle

Rooster is our AKC Miniauture Red & White Parti poodle. He came all the way from California, It took us a year to find a red parti boy that fit our requirements which included an amazing temperament from excellent parents, AKC pedigree, healthy from health tested parents, miniature size, red parti color, and carries phantom! He checks every box and then some. He is exactly like his breeder describes his mother, a dog that falls right into your soul. He is so sweet, sensitive, caring, in tune with those around him (me especially as his primary caretaker), silly and affectionate. He is incredibly smart and it doesn’t take him long to learn new tasks and tricks at all. He loves to prance around like he owns the place and is always concerned with where I am, what I’m doing and how I’m feeling. This is what will make him such a great producer of therapy and service dogs! He always wants to put a smile on my face and does a great job of putting smiles on others faces too! When I bring him places everyone wants to know what he is because his coloring is so rare. With permission and encouragement from me, he will give a friendly hello to anyone. He loves children especially! Rooster is going to be the Dad to many of our upcoming litters and will produce such beautiful, well dispositioned puppies. He is my special boy!

Program Stud: HaKuna Matata of Remedy Ridge
Call name:
Kuna
Certifications:
AKC Star puppy & Manners Matter Graduate, currently in training for CGC

Breed: AKC Miniature Black Tri Color Poodle

He is a little over 1 year old and He’s our newest Remedy Ridge member, an AKC mini sized black tri poodle male. Another program blessed us with him after we fell in love with him when we noticed he was to be the Dad of a litter we were interested in. We were finally persuasive enough to capture him. The prior breeder only house broke him (like most breeders) so he has a long ways to go to obtain his CGC and therapy test but as a certified AKC evaluator myself and with the opinion of our private trainer, the temperament is 100% there! He such a happy go lucky personality and is interested in getting to know everyone. He is a cuddle bug and never wants to leave our sides. He gets along with all of our dogs and doesn’t have an aggressive or mean bone to him. He gives big welcomes and hellos when we arrive and looks like he’s smiling often. He is sensitive and picks up on the energy of the people and other dogs around him. We are absolutely in love with him! He is especially close with my 9 year old son. He has already had a private with our trainer and will continue to train with her until he achieves his CGC certification.

He is very special genetically, he carries brown, red, the parti gene and phantom points with deep intensity. He weighs in at just 11.5 lbs and is going to make absolutely beautiful puppies and we’ll tempered puppies.

Program Stud: Those Astro Blues of Remedy Ridge Call Name: Astro
Certifications:
AKC Star Puppy, Manners Matter graduate & AKC Canine Good Citizen certified (working toward therapy cert, will be no problem!)

Breed: ASDR Toy Australian Shepherd

Astro is a dream stud. He weighs in at just 17 lbs and has a beautiful chocolate coat with copper phantom points and a strong blue eye gene that presents itself in even our solid colored puppies. I waited years for a boy like him for our program. I was hesitant about adding a toy aussie to our program because they are known to be high on energy levels over standards. I studied up on breeders across the country and when I learned Astro’s parents had low friendly drives with outstanding pedigrees I knew he would be perfect for our program. He has lived up to his outstanding genetics, he has a much lower reactivity than your average Aussie, with a low herding instinct/drive, is very cuddly and when left inside will lay around all day but is still down for an adventure! His “off switch” is incredible but he’s not lazy when you take him out hiking either. He’s so friendly and loves everyone he meets and greets everyone at our porch with a friendly hello.

Program Stud: Ledgendary Ledger of Remedy Ridge.
Call name:
Ledger
Certifications:
Therapy Dog certified, AKC Canine Good Citizen & Advanced Canine Good Citizen certified

Breed: AKC Moyen Brown Phantom Poodle

This boy is one in a million. He flew to us from across the country and was selected among hundreds of candidates for reasons he confirms every day. He was selected for his strong pedigree, genetics, and dispositions of his parents. He comes from lineage with unique markings and generations of award winning Poodles representing the poodle breed best. Not only does he stop people in their tracks wherever he goes, he can never meet a stranger. He is loving towards all and puts smiles on everyone’s faces. He has blown trainers away with his willingness to learn and adapt at such a young age. We call him an “old sole”. He is wonderful with other pets and children as well. He is 28 lbs of loving perfection. Ledger resides with his guardian family for very specific and intentional reasons. We found him a guardian family upon good reference that was committed to giving him the best life and attention that he would need to become a healthy minded and well rounded dog. We wanted to provide him with a home that was dedicated to bringing him places and giving him all the training he would need to become the incredible dog that he has become. It is one thing to own a dog and a completely different thing to get it therapy certified. This would have never been obtained in addition to the training the dams also required. Healthy minded dogs provided with lots of training, stimulation, nurture and socialization carry on their dispositions to their offspring.

Program Dam: Aanaya’s Purpose of Remedy Ridge

Call Name: Aya
Certifications:
AKC Canine Good Citizen, Advanced AKC CGC, Urban CGC & Therapy Certified

Breed: AKC small standard blue merle phantom poodle

Meet Aya, a gorgeous AKC merle phantom poodle. She is our biggest over achiever, She is a Canine Good Citizen, Advanced AKC CGC, Urban CGC & therapy certified.

We are very selective about bringing merle poodles into our program due to controversy over them “not actually being poodles” which is why we only do if their genetic breed test shows that they are 100% poodle. Most breeders of merle poodles won’t share breed results because most merle poodles aren’t really poodles. We don’t cut corners or skip steps here, we make sure our buyers are getting what they pay for. She has a wonderful pedigree from incredible lines. Her Dad is a retired service dog and the trainer that worked with her to get her therapy test ready said that she displays the perfect temperament of a service dog herself. She said she was by far one of the easiest dogs she has ever trained. Aya is the absolute sweetest thing on earth and she wants nothing more than to please you, follow you everywhere and snuggle up to watch a movie.

About Canine Good Citizen

(CGC)

AKC states that the “CGC is a ten-skill training program that’s open to all dogs–purebred and mixed breed–that focuses on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, instilling the values of responsible ownership, and strengthening the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community.”  Topdogtricks states that these are “the skills that your dog will learn in the Canine Good Citizen program which are designed to teach them how to behave in a socially acceptable way which is why the program is often referred to as a “class in good manners” for dogs.” It is often a prerequisite for therapy dog training courses.
